anxious for spring

I've been so excited by the lack of snow. The kids think spring is around the bend and they were a bit bothered to learn that it will probably snow again. So I decided to bring a little spring planting indoors and get an early start on a few things. I'm hoping for lots more little plantings in the next few weeks. And I'm anxious to begin seeing little green sprouts poking through.

But I was kind of impatient and really wanted something fresh and green already. Though it doesn't look like this bamboo is faring too well in my care. I'll need to research these little guys a bit more before I kill it.
