There's a reason that slap bracelets went out with the 80's. Not only were they lame, they were apparently also dangerous. Whoever is trying to bring them back needs to stop. Seriously.
Interesting Jeremy, because when I was in kindergarten (circa 1991) they were strictly outlawed at school, and resultantly, all the rage on the playground black market.
The snap bracelet snuck around into the mid-90's. I remember trading them with friends in 3rd-4th grade. I think we missed the memo on them being dangerous and outlawed :P
We had nothing that vicious when I was a kid..... Oh, except for jelly shoes..... those things could practically amputate a pinkie toe with one small stumble and if it got too hot..... they melted into your flesh(or so I heard tale)!
OMG! Look at that gash, lets ban schools altogether! BURN the schools to the ground! It's our civic duty to makes sure kids don't ever get hurt, never ever while they play, even when they are just being kids. FU ALL!!

Note the date of the article. Apparently that is exactly why they went away.
